Academic Intervention Program
The Maths Guru initiative helps high school students through mathematics training. We take on several students and help develop their confidence in themselves with regards to the subject.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) released a 2016 Global Information Technology Report, which placed South Africa last in terms of the quality Mathematics and Science education. Currently, in South Africa students are struggling with mathematics. They are intimidated by the subject and hold the belief that they cannot do well in it.
Here is an opportunity for us to build on the state of our education by providing skills training within the mathematics education sector. This provides young people with more career options specifically in the scarce skills field. By doing this we help build the economy.
We will track the students which we facilitate by checking whether there are any improvements in their results. That will be done quarterly every year.
